1995 Nissan 240sx

Since he wanted cut down on cost we reused his existing mufflers and just reworked his Y-pipe. He had already installed a new 3” downpipe, so we built a full 3” stainless cat back which splits to dual 2.5” mufflers. After cutting apart the old exhaust we discovered the rather large restriction at the existing Y-pipe. The old exhaust came with his JDM SR20DET swap and the origin is unknown, but this was a perfect example of the lack of quality in lesser parts/fabrication. Needless to say that piece went in the scrap bin, we reconstructed the good part of the Y-pipe, tucked up the exhaust as high as possible, added a middle hanger to help hold it up there and moved the muffler so it wasn’t touching the bumper ever again. While still having the car, we welded the upper part of his roll cage to the A-pillars & B-pillars. This extremely stiffened up the car even more now with the cage and the body working as one unit.
